Such an amazing year! Playing shows with Bill Kreutzmann(Grateful Dead), Dumpstaphunk, Papa Mali, Ekoostik Hookah, Melvin Seals(Jerry Garcia), Wookiefoot, George Porter Jr. and tons of other amazing artists was such a thrill! We travelled over 12,000 miles this year alone. Since returning to music full time in 2009, I’ve been blessed with so many amazing opportunities. After hurricane Katrina in 2005, I was left with almost nothing. No guitar, no equipment, shit…. no clothes, I even lost alot of my songbooks and writings in that storm. Verses I can only recall fragments of in my dreams. I fell into a deep depression and the process of writing only brought back the loss of those songs. In the end, writing was the only thing I had left, so I found myself doing it anyway. I think if I was stranded on a desert island I would still be writing songs and singing for the tress. After a fateful meeting with Jimmy Valentine in 2007, I was suddenly on a tour bus with 60’s Legend “Sky Saxon and The Seeds” criss-crossing the country. I knew then, this is where I belong, on the road, playing music. So I picked myself up, recorded “Jukebox Gypsy” and I’ve been going full steam ever since. I had a European tour booked for this Winter, but the cost of air fare and these unbelievable prices for extra bags(guitars and such) an $80 flight from Berlin to London can suddenly jump to $400 in one transaction!!! Way to expensive for an indie like me. So the tour dates were scratched and the funds will be put to better use recording my next project. I guess the Winter air makes me reflective. I’m currently writing and recording demos in my home studio. I’ll be taking the next few months off from the road to get my juices flowing and to let my creative process breathe a bit. Touring takes alot out of you, for me it’s almost impossible to write on the road. So I’ll be back in the Spring with a new batch of songs and I’ll be hitting the road again in the Summer of 2012. Lastly, I really want to thank everyone that has bought a copy of “3” and “Jukebox Gypsy”, I’ve sold over 10,000 copies of Jukebox Gypsy alone! I wouldn’t be able to tour from state to state without your support, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Well, back to the lab………………
